چکیده
As discussed in chapter 3, selected mapping (SLM) and partial transmit sequence (PTS) are the two most popular distortion-less PAPR reduction techniques but both of them require the transmission of SI, with each OFDM symbol to recover the original OFDM signal. The transmission of SI not only reduces the effective data rate, but also degrades the error performance of the OFDM system, in case of erroneous detection of SI. As discussed in chapter 5 and 6, to protect the SI and to improve the error performance of the OFDM system error control coding can be utilized but it further degrades the effective data rate of the OFDM system.
